Christian Eriksen has returned to training in Denmark with Odense: ‘We are happy that he is keeping in shape with us,’ said the club director Michael Hemmingsen.

Eriksen has been out of action since June 12, when he collapsed on the pitch due to a heart attack during Denmark-Finland.

He is not allowed to train or play in Italy after having a heart starter implanted, so he returned to Denmark, where he is training with his former club Odense.

“We are delighted that Christian Eriksen is keeping in shape right with us,” the club’s sporting director Michael Hemmingsen told Bt.dk.

“We have kept in touch with Christian since he left, and therefore we are happy that he asked us if he could train in Ådalen.”

Eriksen left the club in 2009, joining Ajax in a €1.5m deal.

He then moved to Tottenham and Inter.

The 29-year-old is under contract with the Serie A champions until June 2024. A FIFA insurance covers his €7m-a-year salary, and Inter will discuss the player’s future with the former Tottenham star and his agent in the coming months.

The two parties are on good terms and are willing to find the best solution for the player’s future.
