Enzo Fernandez calls Dybala to Chelsea: ‘I’m waiting for him’

Chelsea are reportedly interested in picking up Paulo Dybala and Enzo Fernandez is keen to welcome his Argentina teammate, admitting he ‘really hopes he can come’.

The 29-year-old forward shined in his debut season with Roma, scoring 18 goals and providing eight assists across 38 total appearances.

Dybala signed a three-year deal with the Giallorossi last summer that contains an accessible release clause – €12m for foreign clubs and €20m from teams in Serie A.

Chelsea have reportedly sounded out a move with Dybala but the player rejected them and expressed his willingness to sign a new contract with Roma.

Speaking to Ole via Calciomercato, Enzo Fernandez was asked about Chelsea’s interest in Dybala.

“I’ve read something about it, we’ll see. I really hope he can come. I’ve talked to him, and I told him I’m waiting for him for an asado. I need someone to share mate.”

Roma are working on a new deal for Dybala, ready to increase his wages to reflect his importance to the club. He is quickly growing into a fan favourite in the Italian capital and his shirt for the 2023-24 season was quickly sold out after the recent release.
