Enrique eager to win at Catania

Luis Enrique is anticipating an open game played in a heated atmosphere, but still wants Roma to secure maximum points away to Catania on Saturday night.

The Giallorossi could make it five consecutive wins in all competitions this weekend, which would confirm their best return of form for over 18 months.

The Giallorossi could make it five consecutive wins in all competitions this weekend, which would confirm their best return of form for over 18 months.

Whilst Coach Enrique is under no illusions as to the challenge an away match to Catania represents, he has admitted to the Press on Friday about the value three points hold going forward.

“I have heard that it is heated environment in Sicily, that they live football there with a passion. This is beautiful and will also serve as added motivation for the team.

“It is a great place to go and [get a result to] build our confidence from, Catania are having a great season.”

The Spaniard then considered what sort of challenge Vincenzo Montella’s men will offer at the Massimino.

“I’ve seen Montella’s Catania and theirs is a team that is stronger technically than they are physically.

“I think that it will be a beautiful game. I don’t think it will be aggressive either – that’s not us and it’s not them either.

“Everything surrounding the game is really good – it will be good to play the game in a great atmosphere.”

Irritation surrounded Enrique’s closing answer, which was to more questions about Daniele De Rossi’s ongoing contract situation.

“Do you think it has influenced his performances so far? It’s better for you if we talk about it, when he does renew his contract, Press conferences will be very boring.

“This is a situation between a player, club and Coach who all want the same thing.”
