The Three Lions are likely to battle it out with Italy for top spot in Group C, with Ukraine potentially in a position to cause an upset further down the road.
At Wembley, England have been very strong under Southgate and they are unbeaten in their last 16 games in the capital. That bodes well for a routine win over Ukraine this weekend.
Within that run of Wembley consistency, England scored eight goals in three games at the home stadium in 2022, and they have only failed to score over 2.5 goals at the ground on one occasion since June 2021.

That makes this one look relatively straightforward and, while it will not be the end of Ukraine’s campaign, it should put Southgate’s side on a strong early footing to reach Euro 2024.
Harry Kane may be able to make history in this game, on the back of scoring five goals for England in the last 12 months, as he closes in on the all-time goal scoring record with the national team.
Kane is currently level with Wayne Rooney on 53 and this could be a crucial night for the Tottenham striker if he can lead England to a win.
