The last quarter-final clash kicks off at the Al Bayt Stadium on Saturday and these England vs. France predictions suggest that football will not be coming home quite yet. But we could see another master class from Kylian Mbappé.

England vs. France odds

1 – France to win – 11/8

2 – Over 2.5 goals scored – 6/5

3 – Both teams to score – 19/20

4 – France to win and both teams to score  – 4/1

5 – Kylian Mbappé to score at anytime – 15/8

Can anyone stop Kylian Mbappé? Gareth Southgate will need to figure out an answer to that question in the next few days after his England side comfortably beat Senegal in the round of 16 on Sunday.

The goals were shared around once again in that match, with Harry Kane finally getting in on the action. But it was teenager Jude Bellingham that received the most praise. The midfielder was outstanding and will now need to keep his fine for going against the current World champions.

After a relatively easy group stage – and a straightforward round of 16 tie – England now come up against possibly the best team in the tournament and will be underdogs before kick off. Confidence will be high in the Three Lions camp but England will need to play better than they have in years to make it through to the final four.

France seem to have continued where they left off in Russia four years ago. The Tunisia defeat aside (when Didier Deschamps gave the majority of his starting XI a rest), Les Bleus have been a delight to watch – and they will surely attack the England back four from the start on Saturday.

Kylian Mbappé is able to score at will at the moment and backing him to find the net against England would seem to be a good idea. But England will be in this game too, so backing both teams to score – with France coming out on top in the end – also looks good.

This promises to be an exhilarating match between two of the most exciting set of players at this World Cup. The winner could go all the way and lift the World Cup in a couple of weeks’ time – and it will probably be France.

England team news

After much deliberation, it seems like Gareth Southgate now has his starting eleven sorted. The mixture of youth and experience in the middle, in Jude Bellingham and Jordan Henderson, has really worked – and Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka should play down the flanks. Marcus Rashford will have to make do with another substitute appearance.

France team news

Didier Deschamps also looks like he knows exactly who he wants to start this quarter-final tie. He has been able to rotate the squad a little more than Southgate but has no suspensions or injuries to worry about, so should go with the same eleven that beat Poland.
