Empoli’s sporting director Marcello Carli has refuted suggestions Daniele Rugani could move to Juventus in January.
The 20-year-old has been a standout player for the Tuscan side this season, and with the defender co-owned by the Bianconeri, there were suggestions he could head to Turin in January with the champions plagued by defensive injuries.
However, Empoli’s sporting director insists the Old Lady have not contacted him about the young centre-back, who has received an Italy call-up after his performances this term.
“So far Juventus haven’t contacted us about Rugani,” Carli told Calciomercato.
“And in any case, we plan to keep the player.
“Not least because we’re battling for survival and we don’t want to be deprived of him.”
