Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi insists “we have not been contacted by Milan” for Riccardo Saponara.
The Rossoneri sold the attacking midfielder to the Tuscan side in May of 2015 for a reported €4m, having originally signed him from the same club in 2013.
After a fine season at Stadio Carlo Castellani, it has been suggested that Saponara could be set for a second San Siro spell, but Empoli’s patron denies that.
“It’s just rumours and speculation,” Fabrizio Corsi told MilanNews.

“It’s just rumours and speculation,” Fabrizio Corsi told MilanNews.
“We haven’t been contacted by Milan in regard to Saponara returning to the Rossoneri.
“We know, through his agent, that there are four or five teams interested in the player, big teams. The transfer window isn’t open yet though, and there have been no direct talks with [Milan CEO Adriano] Galliani to bring him back to the Rossoneri.
“I don’t know if this idea about Saponara came from Milan sources, it wasn’t from us.
“With regard to Milan, there are things to be sorted out as far as the ownership is concerned. They’re in talks to sell the club, so the transfer market is of secondary importance to them.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to wish a speedy recovery to their President, Silvio Berlusconi, I expect him to be up and among us again soon.”
