“We are facing a side with enormous attacking potential, including players who will make their names heard in future like Belotti, Dybala and Vazquez,” said Sarri.

“I find it difficult to choose my forwards, as it is tough to leave someone out. I discuss the pros and cons with my staff, taking many factors into consideration.”

Empoli have reason to celebrate this weekend, as 20-year-old centre-back Rugani has been called up by Antonio Conte for Italy’s Euro 2016 qualifiers against Azerbaijan and Malta.

“At the start of the season I said that within a few months Rugani would make his Italy debut and everyone is happy that moment has arrived.

“We are talking about a player with great physical strength, but at the same time he’s quick with good character and can improve so much.

“He reminds me of Ranocchia, especially in terms of mentality.”
