A statement was released by the club confirming that Giacomo Corsi had died “prematurely and unexpectedly.
“His passing has left the Empoli family speechless. The whole team, directors, youth sector and all the fans embrace President Corsi and his daughter Rebecca.”
In a sign of mourning, tomorrow the Monteboro training ground will be closed and youth academy events cancelled.
The entire first team will attend the funeral on Wednesday afternoon.
