Empoli confirm they are ready to sell Fabiano Parisi to Fiorentina, as after negotiations they are ‘just waiting for a congruous offer.’

The Italy Under-21 international left-back impressed for the Azzurrini, has received his first call-up to the senior squad and last season contributed two goals and two assists in 33 Serie A appearances.

“After three years, we are ready to give him what he wants and allow him to play for a more ambitious club,” Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi told TG Toscana.

“We are just waiting for a congruous offer from Fiorentina.”

An initial €10m plus bonuses bid had been rejected, but another meeting will be held later today to discuss the final details and they are expected to strike a deal.

Juventus and Torino had also been interested in Parisi, but Fiorentina were by far the most determined to get it done quickly.

Parisi plays as a left-back and the 22-year-old is therefore fighting for position with captain Cristiano Biraghi, who turns 31 in September.

It remains to be seen if this arrival will push Biraghi towards the exit or simply make him second choice in that role.
