Paris Saint-Germain Coach Unai Emery assures he’s “happy” with Marco Verratti.

The Italian midfielder complained when substituted against Marseille, leading to rumours he could leave Parc Des Princes and then his relationship with Emery had broken down.

“I’m happy with Verratti,” Emery told reporters in a Press conference today.

“Marco’s quality is important for the team, but he’ll be managed, just the same as everyone. We’ll play the next game and it’s important for him to be there for the team.

“What’s important is that today he’s better than a month ago. Firstly, he’s improved a lot physically. That’s important, as he started pre-season a little later than the team.

“The physical management of players is important, and today he’s better.

“This is a good time to do more in the next game, to improve, to help the team with his quality.

“Today I’m happy, and I think he’ll be better in the game. He’ll do more in the game than he did this time. He’s a good player, but I think he’ll do better.”

Emery also discussed Thiago Silva, who has been linked with a move to Milan.

“He’s the captain, a player with a lot of experience. All his teammates respect him too, I’ve spoken to him and he’s happy here. He’s returned to the national team and he’s happy.

“He’s very motivated with PSG, he’s always the first to training. He’ll give his all for the team and he’s improving.”
