Italy international Emerson Palmieri will no longer be making the move from Chelsea to West Ham United, as negotiations have been terminated.
According to both The Evening Standard and Sky Sport Italia, the deal is effectively off and will not be going forward.
Chelsea want £20m to sell the left-back, circa €23.4m, and are not prepared to let him leave on a temporary loan.
There were also disagreements between West Ham United and the player’s agent on his salary demands.
The 28-year-old is under contract at Stamford Bridge until June 2024 and made the move there in January 2018 from Roma.
He spent last season on loan at Olympique Lyonnais, where he scored one goal and provided two assists in 36 competitive appearances.
Emerson has been linked with a potential return to Serie A for Lazio, where he would reunite with former Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri, and Juventus, but they are only prepared to take him on loan with option to buy.
