Multiple reports in France claim Olympique Lyonnais have agreed terms with Chelsea for Emerson Palmieri, who should have his medical tomorrow.

According to L’Equipe and transfer expert Hugo Guillemet, it will be a dry loan without an option to buy at the end of the season.

As his contract with Chelsea expires in June 2022, that means penning an extension first and then signing on for Lyon.

Napoli had been in the running for months, but never managed to work out a deal with Chelsea.

It’s now reported the Italy international of Brazilian descent will be in Lyon tomorrow for his medical and to sign the paperwork.

The 27-year-old joined Chelsea from Roma in January 2018 for €20m and rarely got regular playing time at Stamford Bridge.

Emerson was also part of the Italy side that won UEFA EURO 2020 over the summer and has 19 senior caps for the Azzurri under his belt.

His previous clubs include Palermo and Santos.
