The Rossoneri are out of European competition for a second season in a row, but the Brazilian is targeting a return to the Champions League under new Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.

“It’s important for me to play with professionals like [Cristian] Zapata, Alex, [Philippe] Mexes and [Gabriel] Paletta,” Ely told Milan Channel.

“I am learning a lot and I think we must keep on working because we want to do well and achieve a lot of good things this season.

“I want to help Milan go back to where it deserves to be and that is in the top three in the League table.

“I am available to the Coach and the club. I want to work hard to do as well as possible.”

Ely was handed a starting shirt for last night’s friendly with Bayern Munich, but the Diavolo were comfortably beaten 3-0.

“We knew it was going to be difficult because we were facing one of the best teams in the world.

“It was a good test however, even if we weren’t able to carry out what the Coach asked of us. They were certainly ahead of us in terms of match fitness.

“Now, we have to keep on working just as we have been doing.”
