Eljif Elmas was satisfied after Napoli’s 3-0 friendly win over Juve Stabia, underlining his strong impression of the new arrivals.

Partenopei coach Luciano Spalletti showed off his new signings to the fans at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona this evening, starting Salvatore Sirigu, Giacomo Raspadori, Tanguy Ndombele and Giovanni Simeone. After a balanced first half, Napoli had no trouble striking three into the back of the net to secure their win.

Speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli after the match, Elmas first reacted to the win over Juve Stabia and his role as captain in the game.

“It’s an honour to be the captain of Napoli, I thank coach Spalletti for choosing me. I really don’t know what to say, it’s emotional. I want to thank the fans, this year they will always be with us and this stadium must be as beautiful as the name it bears.

“All the newcomers will give a great hand, they’re very strong and good guys. There are many young people who played here for the first time today, they are the future of this team.”

The 22-year-old North Macedonian revealed his initial impression of Ndombele.

“We all knew him already, he’s a great player and I hope he does well here at Napoli. He scored a great goal and has great quality.”

Finally, Elmas looked ahead to the next Serie A clash against Fiorentina on the weekend.

“We’ve already started preparing for the match, they’re a great team with a lot of quality. We have to give everything on the field, I hope to win and come home with three points.”

Napoli’s season has gotten off to a strong start with confident wins over Hellas Verona 5-2 and Monza 4-0. They’ll be hoping to follow these up with another strong showing against Fiorentina on Sunday evening.
