Stephan El Shaarawy confirms he will remain in Rome to train by himself while he waits for a new club to sign him up in January.
The forward has now completed international duty with Italy, but is still looking for a move back to Serie A from Shanghai Shenhua.
“I have spent over two months in Rome training without a team due to the pandemic, as I couldn’t return to China,” he wrote on Instagram.
“I was fortunate to work with two special people like Claudio Donatelli and Marco Ferrelli, who I thank so much, as they allowed me to maintain my fitness levels.
“Knowing how to wait doesn’t mean grinding to a halt! And we never did. That will continue to be the case until January, a strange situation that I’ve never experienced before, but it makes me even more convinced that objectives must be created day after day, creating a lifestyle.
“With constant effort and dedication, I have been able to achieve my targets and relish those evenings that make life and football worth living, despite all the difficulties of this moment.
“Now we’ll resume, as always, with the same hunger and passion that allowed me to experience emotions like this.”
