The 27-year-old moved to Shanghai Shenhua for €16m last summer and Sky now writes that the left-winger would like to come home after only 10 in the Chinese Super League.

The former Milan player has played 195 games in Serie A, 109 of them for the Giallorossi and contributed 55 goals and 27 assists during the time in his native Italy.

He has been capped 25 times for the Azzurri and scored four times for his national team, as he currently hopes to be a part of Roberto Mancini's squad for Euro 2020 this summer. A move back to Serie A could possibly help him secure a place.
