Paulo Fonseca is also willing to welcome the Italian winger back at the Stadio Olimpico.
Roma had agreed to sign “El Sha” on a season-long loan with an option to buy lower than €15m last summer.
El Shaarawy had accepted to take a salary cut signing a €2.6m-a-year contract with the Giallorossi despite being on a €14m-a-year deal in Shanghai.
Roma, however, did not have enough time to close the deal but El Shaarawy is now pushing to return to the Capital and the club would be happy to welcome him back.
