Serie A sides will have to get used to facing opposition from the Czech Republic, with Roma facing champions Viktoria Plzen, Inter meeting Sparta Prague and Fiorentina pitted against Slovan Liberec.

While the Czech League is ranked eight places below Serie A in terms of coefficients, the Italian sides will have to be wary after Sparta Prague eliminated Lazio 4-1 on aggregate in the Last 16 last year.

The Nerazzurri have been handed a tough group, as they will also face English Premier League side Southampton, as well as Israeli champions Hapoel Be’er Sheva.

Fiorentina’s Group J is perhaps the most favourable of the four, as in addition to Liberec they face PAOK and Qarabag of Azerbaijan.

As well as a trip to Plzen, Luciano Spalletti’s Roma will face Austria Wien and West Ham United’s conquerors Astra Giurgiu.

For debut boys Sassuolo, their first European adventure will include a trip to Spain as they’ll take on Athletic Club in Group F, as well as facing Genk and Rapid Wien.
