Eight Serie A representatives are set to take part in the men’s football tournament at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris over the next few weeks.

Fiorentina’s Lucas Beltran is perhaps the most recognisable name on the list, which is largely composed of U23 players.

Olympic rules state that squads are allowed to include up to three players over the age of 23, but otherwise players must be aged 23 or under.

16 teams will compete for the gold medal in France. They will be divided into four groups of four, before entering a World Cup-style knockout bracket, beginning with the quarter-finals. Hosts France, as well as Spain, Argentina and the United States are among the ‘biggest’ football nations to qualify for the tournament.

The football tournament will take place at seven venues across France, including at PSG’s Parc des Princes, the Stade Velodrome in Marseille and the temporarily re-named Stade de Lyon.
