Eusebio Di Francesco saw improvements throughout the Roma squad after their 4-1 win over Sampdoria and thinks he has found Patrik Schick’s role.

The Giallorossi flattened Samp 4-1 at the Stadio Olimpico, following on from their victory at CSKA Moscow in the Champions League midweek.

“We had tried a few things on set plays and knew that Juan Jesus had to go towards the area where the second ball would land,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“We had tried a few things on set plays and knew that Juan Jesus had to go towards the area where the second ball would land,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“I am trying to bring a balance to the team and we are all growing together. If the mind isn’t working, the body won’t do well either.”

Schick was finally able to score a goal, only his fourth for Roma since the transfer from Sampdoria.

“Everything has its time and he knows that he has more work to do. We’ve all been waiting for him to find his form and confidence. I think Schick is more of a centre-forward than a trequartista, as he is very good at gathering the ball down the centre-right. When I use him alongside Edin Dzeko, he does well to move around behind him.

“El Shaarawy is getting more consistent over the course of a match, both when defending and attacking. I am very happy with his two goals.”
