The Neroverdi qualified for their first ever continental competition this season, eliminating Red Star Belgrade 4-1 on aggregate in the play-off.

“I have to say I was happy with the draw, because we’re going to be visiting some beautiful places,” the Coach told Radio 24.

“We’re going to Vienna, Bilbao and Genk, what’s more we will definitely have our say in this competition.

“Athletic are a club who, more than the other two, are accustomed to these tournaments and often reached the final stages. I remain convinced we can do well.

“I already played at the San Mames with Roma and it is a stadium with a great atmosphere, the kind of passionate supporters we also saw in Belgrade.

“We must concentrate only on ourselves, knowing we are going into a wonderful and historic experience. I’m already feeling the adrenaline rush of competing against these teams, I must admit.”
