Eusebio Di Francesco assures the Europa League “means a lot” to Sassuolo and they’ve studied Rapid Vienna carefully.
“We worked so hard to earn our place in the Europa League, so naturally it means a lot to us,” said the Coach in his Press conference.
“Rapid are similar to Genk, as they too have a lot of quality upfront and players who are strong in one-on-one situations.
They allow spaces because their full-backs attack so much, therefore we must take advantage.
“It’s a very balanced group, as all four teams have three points. I don’t think this result will be decisive, but it is fundamental to emerge with points also to boost our confidence.”
The Neroverdi remain ravaged by injury problems that have inevitably affected their form.
“Many of the injuries have been freak occurrences, like Tim Letschert hurting his shoulder. We train with intensity to put in strong performances.
“We have 19 players available tomorrow and three goalkeepers, so it won’t exactly be difficult to guess my line-up. Francesco Acerbi will certainly start and I have to compliment him for always being there.
“We’ll start either Alessandro Matri or Gregoire Defrel, but are unlikely to see them together.”
Domenico Berardi, Simone Missiroli, Alfred Duncan and Letschert are not making the trip to Austria.
