Eusebio Di Francesco confirms Radja Nainggolan wants to return to Cagliari but urges the club to bring in more new faces.
“Nainggolan is an Inter player, even if he wants to return here and we want him back,” the Cagliari coach told Dazn after a 5-2 away defeat at Atalanta.
Nainggolan was not included in Inter’s squad list for the games against Benevento and Lazio and Beppe Marotta said before the kick-off of Lazio-Inter the Belgian midfielder has handed in a transfer request at Inter.
Di Francesco, however, believes that the potential signing of Nainggolan may not be enough to strengthen his Cagliari side: “I think we need more new signings to boost the team in other departments. Gabriele Zappa made his Serie A debut today and although Mattéo Tramoni did well today he’s learning how much quality and physical strength are needed to play in Serie A.
“We did well in the first 30 minutes of the game and we were too naïve in conceding the first goal. We should bring more quality in the final third and we know Atalanta is ruthless in front of goal.”
