Eusebio Di Francesco hopes football takes centre stage when Roma strive to come back against Liverpool. “It’s a semi-final and a day of celebration.”

Roma were thrashed 5-2 by Liverpool in the first leg of their Champions League last-four tie, but a Reds fan was left fighting for his life before the match at Anfield.

“Personally I condemn all forms of violence, what happened at Liverpool even more,” said the Coach at a Press conference for Saturday’s Serie A visit of Chievo.

“Personally I condemn all forms of violence, what happened at Liverpool even more,” said the Coach at a Press conference for Saturday’s Serie A visit of Chievo.

“We’re very close to Sean and his family, and I hope we don’t forget the second leg is both a Champions League semi-final and a day of celebration.

“We’re all sorry for how the first leg went. We expected a different result and not to lose so many 50-50s.

“Now we have an important match against Chievo coming up, and I think the lads want to redeem themselves.

“We have to bounce back in the League, there are four important games coming up.

“The first leg? Looking back, we did very well for the first 20 minutes but came undone at the first opportunity and dropped our heads a little.

“We lost too many 50-50s and Liverpool were better than us on a physical level. That said, we got a bit lost and a bit scared. We must be more determined.”
