This was their second consecutive victory, but unlike the 3-2 over Genoa, it was a convincing and far more confident performance that could’ve had many more goals.
“It was in technical terms one of our best performances of the season, if not the best, considering the number of chances we created,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.
“We are on the right track and I saw many interesting elements today. It hasn’t been easy when missing so many key players for a long time, especially as I like to create a sense of consistency from game to game, but everyone is now working together again and forming a unit.”
There had been talk of Di Francesco being dismissed, even after last week’s win over Genoa, but this performance seems to have put those rumours on the back-burner.
“I never lacked support from the club. It’s only natural that when Roma don’t get results, the Coach is put under the spotlight. As I already said, I always feel under the spotlight.”
