According to Il Secolo, if highly-rated striker Luis Muriel leaves in January, the Genoa-based club could attempt to bring Eder back to the Marassi.

The signing was initially prompted by an explosive first half of the 2015-16 campaign, when Eder fired in 12 goals in 19 appearances for the Bluerchiati.

Meanwhile at former club Sampdoria, Muriel has formed a formidable partnership with Fabio Quagliarella this term, the Colombian having already fired in eight goals.

With interest in the Colombian from Chelsea and Valencia, Samp President Massimo Ferrero may struggle to hold on to his prized forward, but the return of Eder could provide a viable alternative at the club.
