Inter could have another free agent swoop with reports Ecuador international and former Chicago Fire right-back Jhon Espinoza has been offered.

The Nerazzurri have balanced the books with smart transfers for players who are out of contract, already securing Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski this season.

According to Calciomercato.it, the agent representing Espinoza has contacted Inter and asked if they want to sign the 25-year-old.

Espinoza option for Inter

He plays at right-back, which would be a right wing-back in Inter’s 3-5-2 formation, and has two senior caps for Ecuador.

He had most recently played for Swiss side FC Lugano, but spent two years in Major League Soccer with the Chicago Fire until January 2023.

With a relatively low salary, he could be a cheap option to cover Canada international Tajon Buchanan during his injury lay-off for a fractured tibia.

Espinoza was part of the Ecuador squad that won the Under-20 World Cup back in 2019.

Along with Inter, Spanish side Las Palmas are also said to be potentially interested in offering him a contract.
