The EA Sports Serie A Team of the Season has four players from Napoli, three from Juventus, three from Milan and one representing Inter.
Unlike the MVP awards, which were calculated using the Stats Perform data, this first choice XI was chosen using 50 per cent fan votes and 50 per cent the verdict of a jury of sports media editors.
Napoli won the Scudetto and dominated the tournament from start to finish, but there are only four players in the Team of the Season.
They are captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo, defender Kim Min-jae, winger Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and striker Victor Osimhen.
Milan can only reach third position at best, but still get three players into the ideal XI, namely Theo Hernandez, Sandro Tonali and Rafael Leao.
Juventus would’ve been third without the 10-point penalty for artificially inflating transfer fees to boost capital gains, so they get three players in there too.
Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is preferred to Lazio’s Ivan Provedel, with Gleison Bremer and Adrian Rabiot.
The reserves for the Team of the Season are Roma defender Chris Smalling, Lecce midfielder Gabriel Strefezza, Roma forward Paulo Dybala and Inter hitman Lautaro Martinez.
