Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has reportedly put forward a five-year contract offer to Edinson Cavani paying €7m a season.

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has reportedly put forward a five-year contract offer to Edinson Cavani paying €7m a season.

The club are seen as keen to keep hold of their 26-year-old hitman this summer, amid continued speculation that his future may lay elsewhere.

Whilst Cavani has indicated that his future is out of his hands, reports today suggest that the Vesuviani have come forward with an improved contract to try and determine that future.

The Gazzetta dello Sport speculate that De Laurentiis has proposed a five year contract worth €7m a season to try and convince the player to stay.

However, Cavani has been set a deadline of just two weeks to either accept the offer or indicate his intention to leave.

It is reported that those in the player’s entourage are denying any offer has come through.
