Juventus have taken another step towards signing Giuseppe Rossi after a €25m bid was reportedly made to Villarreal.

The player's agent allegedly met with the Spanish club last night where he tabled Juve's offer for his client.

Villarreal are prepared to sell the Italian international, but not at that price. It's understood they want €30m, plus a possible further €5m with the inclusion of bonus clauses.

The Old Lady are looking to sign a new forward and Rossi is their new objective after failing to land Sergio Aguero.

Atletico Madrid wanted €45m for the forward and the Argentine's wage demands are also understood to have been excessive for the Italian club.

Rossi, who was followed by Barcelona this summer, has been offered a four-year contract in Turin worth €3.5m a campaign.

Talks are set to continue, with Juve possibly prepared to offer a player plus cash deal for the former Manchester United youngster.

Felipe Melo and Momo Sissoko have been talked about as possible transfer pawns.
