Inter forward Edin Dzeko was verbally and possibly racially abused by Juventus supporters during last night’s Derby d’Italia, reports suggest.

The 36-year-old Bosnian forward played the full 90 minutes of the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 loss to the Bianconeri in Turin last night, failing to find the back of the net on a tough night for Simone Inzaghi’s side. The defeat saw Inter slip to 7th in the league table, being leapfrogged by Juventus, who rose to 5th.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Dzeko was targeted by the Juventus fans throughout the match, who were insulting him and at points possibly racially abusing him by calling him a gypsy. At one point the Bosnian responded by turning towards them and grabbing his private parts.

The incident could be investigated by the Federal Prosecutor’s Office and Juventus may be at risk of receiving a fine.

Dzeko has scored six goals in 19 appearances across all competitions this season for Inter.
