Bosnia striker Edin Dzeko missed the World Cup Qualifier against Finland and will return to Inter today to start his recovery from a muscle strain.

The veteran picked up the problem in the Derby della Madonnina against Milan ahead of the break and announced he was not available for the 3-1 defeat against Finland on social media.

Sky Sport Italia reports he will skip the second game against Ukraine on Tuesday too and return to Pinetina to continue his recovery.

Inter are currently preparing to play Napoli in Serie A after the international break and the tests Dzeko underwent have not revealed any serious injuries.

The former Roma striker has bagged seven goals in 12 Serie A games this term and added another against FC Sheriff in the Champions League with the Nerazzurri.

The 35-year-old has helped Inter pick up 25 points in the league and the Beneamata sit seven points behind Napoli ahead of the big game at San Siro on November 21.

Inter then host Robrto De Zerbi’s Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League, before a trip to Venezia rounds off November.
