It's no secret that Beppe Marotta would like to sign the Bosnia international. He described the prospect as a dream in the summer and reportedly made inquiries.

Bayern are said to hold an advantage in the race to sign Dzeko as Dieter Hoeness's brother Uli is in charge of the transfer kitty in Bavaria, leading to speculation of an inside job.

"It's useless wasting time," Hoeness said. "We will not sell our player in the next transfer window in January."

Dzeko has scored nine goals in 14 games so far this season and it's thought that he'll be allowed to leave in June.
