Inter striker Edin Dzeko was certain ‘we will have fun’ after introducing himself with a goal against Dynamo Kiev and vowed to give ‘everything for this shirt’.

Dzeko started against the Ukrainians and convinced with a great performance in the final test before the new campaign starts next weekend.

It was uncertain if he would be on the pitch, as he had a knot to untie with Roma before being officially announced as a new Inter striker.

His move was confirmed late last night, after he had scored the 2-0 goal in a 3-0 win over the Ukrainians.

“The sensations are beautiful, I’m very happy,” Dzeko told InterTV. “This is a great opportunity for me, I want to thank the management and the coach for their trust.

“They still think I can make a difference. I arrive at Inter, a great club, the Italian champions. In these six years in Serie A, I have been able to see closely what Inter are and what they represent: now, I can play with them and I’m very happy.

“I can’t wait to go on the pitch with my teammates.”

Dzeko has now teamed up with Simone Inzaghi, who moved from Lazio to Inter this summer and was a previous rival of the Bosnian.

“I spoke to the coach, we joked together. He told me: ‘At least we are not playing against each other anymore!’. We have challenged each other many times,” Dzeko continued.

“I’m happy to work with him, because he has shown with Lazio that he knows how to do great things. I can’t wait to start training.”

Dzeko will also reunite with his former teammate Aleksandar Kolarov.

“We spoke, it really seems like we can’t be without each other after Manchester City and Roma. Aleksandar is a very good lad and a great player. I’m happy to play with him again.”

Then the new striker sent a message to everyone involved in the Nerazzurri.

“I have just arrived, but I know that Inter have a team with many champions, I’m sure we will have fun and that the fans will be happy,” Dzeko said.

“I send a big hug to all of them, I will give everything for this shirt.”
