Inter striker Edin Dzeko said he will support Roma in the ’36 other games’ and stressed his age won’t stop him from trying to make a difference at the Nerazzurri.
The Bosnia international scored in a 1-1 draw with France in the World Cup Qualifiers on Wednesday and the 35-year-old spoke to the reporters at the retreat with the national team.
Dzeko joined Inter this summer, leaving the Giallorossi after six seasons at the Olimpico, and he’s focused on ‘doing my best to help the team win’.
“I have always done my talking on the pitch,” the attacker said, according to Sky Sport Italia. “It doesn’t matter if you are old, it matters what you can do on the pitch.
“I’m focused on my games and what the team does. The attacker’s job is to score, there’s no forward who can predict the number of goals at the end of the campaign.
“I wish I could score every game, but that’s impossible. But I know that I will do my best to help the team win, I don’t even think about the Capocannoniere title.
“I just want Inter to win. The team’s success is more important than the success of an individual.”
The veteran left Roma after 260 competitive games and 119 goals scored and has started his Inter career with one goal in the first two games.
“I wish the Giallorossi good luck,” he told the reporters, according to Sky Sport Italia. “I will always support Roma in the remaining 36 Serie A games.”
