Despite reports in Turkey, Edin Dzeko’s entourage assure the Roma striker is not in negotiations with Fenerbahce.

There were suggestions in Turkish newspaper Sozcu that Dzeko was on the verge of completing his transfer to the Super League for Fenerbahce.

However, the Corriere dello Sport contacted the Bosnia international’s entourage and they insisted not only was a deal not close, but also that there were no talks in progress at all with Turkish teams.

The 35-year-old has been at Roma since 2016 and his current contract is due to expire in June 2022.

He had already been on the verge of a move to Inter and then Juventus last summer, but remained with the Giallorossi.

Dzeko scored 13 goals and provided five assists in 38 competitive games, helping them to the Europa League semi-finals.

New coach Jose Mourinho is expected to bring in new tactical ideas, but should stick with Dzeko as at least one of the first choice strikers.
