Edin Dzeko believes Bosnia-Herzegovina ‘got some pride back after the two defeats’ to Italy last year, holding them 1-1 in the Nations League.

The Roma forward opened the scoring in Florence, cancelled out by a Stefano Sensi equaliser, unlike the two Azzurri victories in Euro 2020 qualifying.

“I always love scoring goals, not just today,” Dzeko told RAI Sport.

“I was right yesterday when I said neither Bosnia nor Italy were 100 per cent fit. We could see the lack of sharpness, but it was a balanced enough game, I think both sides ultimately had one or two chances.”

Could Dzeko become a teammate to Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci this season?

“I played against Leo and all these lads many times in my career, we all know each other well. It’s always a pleasure to play against Italy and at least we got some pride back after the two defeats last year.

“I’ve already said, this is not the time to talk about the transfer market. I am on international duty and have to show full respect to that. We can talk later.”
