Simone Inzaghi is earning praise for his man-management after Inter retained the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana, but the tension with Edin Dzeko and Hakan Calhanoglu last night did not go unnoticed.

The coach has won four trophies in his two seasons at the club so far and could make it five, as he has taken them to the Champions League Final against Manchester City.

That will be played in Istanbul on June 10 and before then the focus is on securing a top four finish in Serie A, which could be done as early as Saturday against Atalanta.

However, it is not all happiness in the Nerazzurri camp, because Dzeko and Calhanoglu both reacted angrily when substituted during last night’s 2-1 Coppa Italia Final victory against Fiorentina.

Inzaghi is notorious for rapidly replacing anyone who is on a yellow card, but that was not the situation for Dzeko and Calhanoglu.

They were both visibly irritated at being hauled off during the Final at the Stadio Olimpico and openly asked Inzaghi for an explanation.

The crowd joined in too, loudly booing when Lautaro Martinez and Calhanoglu made way for Tucu Correa and Roberto Gagliardini.

It might be a particularly damaging incident for Dzeko, considering he is battling Romelu Lukaku for the starting spot in the Champions League Final and needs every chance he can get to make a good impression on Inzaghi.
