While Enzo Fernandez and Thiago Silva have fuelled speculation linking Paulo Dybala with a move to Chelsea, Il Corriere dello Sport claims the Argentinean is waiting to meet the Giallorossi to discuss a potential new deal.

La Joya has a €12m clause available for clubs outside Serie A and Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is a long-time admirer of the Giallorossi star.

Dybala has started the pre-season at Roma, but, as highlighted by Il Corriere dello Sport, he hasn’t clearly stated that he will remain at the club in 2023-24. La Joya has recently said that he’s “happy” at the Stadio Olimpico and feels “motivated” to start training with his teammates.

Meanwhile, Chelsea stars Thiago Silva and Enzo Fernandez have opened the door for Dybala’s transfer to Stamford Bridge. According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Dybala’s move to Chelsea is still on the cards.

The Rome-based paper claims the striker’s agent Jorge Antun is waiting for a meeting with Tiago Pinto to discuss a new deal for his client.

Dybala earned €6m in 2022-23 thanks to add-ons, but the Giallorossi will need to raise his ‘fixed’ €4.5m salary to €6m per season.

If Roma offer Dybala a new deal, they’d also need to extend from 2025 until 2026, raising his release clauses. One is worth €12m for clubs outside Serie A and one is set at €20m for Italian sides.

The €12m clause is valid until the end of July.

According to the report, Dybala would consider a move to Chelsea, while offers from the Saudi Pro League do not tempt him.
