Tense scenes were seen in Turin yesterday as Paulo Dybala and Massimiliano Allegri began to argue at Juventus’ training centre.

As detailed by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Argentinian forward and teammate Juan Cuadrado went to Allegri’s office yesterday to make a request regarding the plans for today, the day before Juventus’ clash against Salernitana. The request related to the pre-match training programme and the timetable for the training session.

The pair wanted a few more hours of freedom in the schedule and Dybala took the lead in the conversation. This request did not impress Allegri and the talk quickly devolved into a heated argument, with the Juventus coach furious to receive such a request after the Champions League exit to Villarreal.

Whilst this argument may not have consequences necessarily, it’s a sign of the tension brewing in the Juventus camp following a lacklustre season, as well as the uncertainty regarding the future of Dybala.

It’s still unclear if the Argentinian forward will sign a new deal before the end of this season, when his contract expires with the club.

  1. I still fail to understand why Dybala did not start against Villarreal, a game which Piemonte Calcio needed to win.

Dybala probably knows he is not staying, question is – will he have the balls to stay in Italy or not?

  2. Don’t worry Clown, if Juve cut him loose, he won’t be going to the team with one star on their jersey, he’ll be going abroad.

  3. So two of the team leaders go to the coach to discuss the lead up to their game, and discuss the training regiment and it turns into a heated argument?

    1. If a coach is unwilling to listen to players, he doesn’t deserve to be leading a team. What is his insecurity?

    2. Based on the history of muscle injuries with this training staff, just maybe these players have a point.

    3. Does anyone think that Dybala and Cuadrado took it upon themselves to create this incident. 1 guy is your #10, and is the captain of your team, and the other guy is the one who keeps sacrificing his position on the field for the team. I’m quite sure they were part of a bigger conversation in the locker room first.

Nothing like a little Italian drama leading up to contract talks again.

This is not the Juve I have grown up watching. Thanks Agnelli and Allegri. You both suck!

  4. Frankie what happened to you, I did not hear from you after the humiliation at the hands of Villarreal?
3 more years of PhD Max and I am sure there are going to be many more shambolic episodes especially in the CL. As for the Super League just forget that idea as Juventus are not ready to hang with the big guns. Do not become the Norwich City or Salernitana of that league.
