Dybala sigh of relief, Llorente problem for Roma

Diego Llorente has been diagnosed with a torn femoral bicep, but Roma teammate Paulo Dybala breathes a sigh of relief, as his ankle injury showed no lesions.

The pair both limped off during the final minutes of Monday’s 3-1 Serie A defeat to Atalanta and remain major doubts for this Saturday’s showdown with Milan.

Defender Llorente suddenly pulled up clutching his hamstring and was seen in tears on the bench, as tests have shown a lesion to the femoral bicep in his left thigh.

This type of injury generally requires 15-20 days out of action, a particular blow seeing as Chris Smalling and Rick Karsdorp are already on the treatment table.

The good news for Roma is that Dybala has no lesions to his left ankle, but it remains heavily bruised after a sprain caused by the Jose Luis Palomino tackle.

“The tests were positive, we are working to be at 100 per cent as soon as possible,” wrote La Joya on his Instagram account.

It remains possible Dybala could even start against Milan this weekend.
