Paulo Dybala’s agent has recently come out of a meeting with representatives from Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah, who have reportedly tabled a tempting offer to lure the Argentine away from the Stadio Olimpico this summer.
Carlos Novel, Dybala’s agent, spoke with the Saudi side on Monday to discuss the possibility of a move to the Middle East this summer. Al-Qadsiah had a €20m bid for La Joya rejected earlier in the summer, but have now returned with a new set of terms.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma have given Dybala their blessing to negotiate with the Saudi club.
The two clubs are due to speak again in the coming days, as the player has not yet come to a final decision himself. Di Marzio adds, however, that there is a ‘concrete’ possibility he could leave the Italian capital this summer.
Where Roma stand with Dybala and Al-Qadsiah
The former Juventus attacker is now into the final year of his contract, but it is understood that he will automatically trigger a one-year extension to his deal if he plays a certain number of matches this season.
Specifically, if Dybala makes 15 appearances for Roma this season, that means he will have featured in over 50% of Giallorossi matches since his last contract extension, which would trigger an automatic extension to the deal.
The player’s wages could reportedly rise up to around €16m gross per season, which will also be the same if the deal is extended for another year.
That means keeping Dybala on board will likely cost the club over €30m in wages alone over the next two years.
