Paulo Dybala warns he is not at 100 per cent yet after his debut Roma brace and assures the best goal is always ‘the next one.’

The Argentina international found the net twice in the first half of a 3-0 win over Monza to break his Giallorossi duck, those two also allowing him to reach the milestone of 100 Serie A career goals.

Released by Juventus as a free agent when they refused to give him a new contract, then seeing Inter decide against signing him, Dybala was seen by some as taking a step down with Roma, but he believes this club can revitalise him.

“I was really eager to score goals, fortunately they arrived here in front of our fans. I am very happy with the victory too and we must keep growing,” Dybala told DAZN.

“The more you play, the better you feel and your fitness levels improve. We have a packed schedule this season, so it will take a while to reach 100 per cent, but it’ll happen soon.”

Jose Mourinho and Dybala were seen giggling after the substitution, so what did they say to each other?

“That stays between us. Ask him!”

Roma are now top of the table, dropping points only in a 1-1 draw away to Juventus, which is also the only goal they conceded.

“This is a strong group, feeling positive after winning the Conference League, but it’s too early to say what we could aim for.”

As it was his 100th Serie A goal, Dybala was asked which one was his favourite.

“The next one.”
