Sky Sport Italia claims that Paulo Dybala’s agent is meeting representatives of Al Qadsiah, with Roma pushing for the striker’s exit mostly for financial reasons.

Dybala could leave Roma in the coming days as his agent, Carlos Novel, is currently meeting directors of Saudi side Al Qadsiah, a club that the Argentinean already turned down a few weeks ago.

Sky and Repubblica claim that Roma are pushing for Dybala’s exit, mainly for financial reasons.

Dybala’s contract in the capital runs out in June 2025 but the deal includes a clause allowing the Argentinean to extend for one more season if he makes a minimum number of appearances.

The contract that Dybala signed two years ago allowed him to automatically extend until 2026 if he had played at least 50% of games for at least 45 minutes during his stay at the club.

Dybala’s agent meets Al Qadsiah: why Roma must sell their star

Dybala played 33 out of 55 games in his first season at Roma and 31 out of 54 last term. As explained by La Repubblica, this means that 15 appearances in this campaign will be enough to extend his contract until 2026, but Roma can’t afford it.

In fact, Dybala’s salary has also been raised to €16m gross this season, and the same will apply in 2025-26, forcing Roma to pay more than €30m across two seasons.

Sky confirms that Dybala’s contract issue is one of the main reasons why Roma are trying to part company with their star, but it remains to be seen if Al Qadsiah will persuade him this time.

La Joya had a €13m clause for clubs outside Serie A but it expired at the beginning of August.

Roma have already reached an agreement with Jeremy Boga, and Daniele De Rossi said a few days ago that Dybala was not unsellable.

According to La Repubblica, the Giallorossi boss has already informed Dybala that he’ll start on the bench in the first game of the season against Cagliari on Sunday.

  1. Dump him after using him as a bait for Soule.
OMG, I thought Giuntoli has no basic human decency but Roma r way below it.

  2. Roma management is losing the plot to compete at the highest level you need your star players this is really really bad decision making
