Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini believes Paulo Dybala is Juventus’ only world-class talent.

The Bianconeri bought the forward from Palermo this summer, for a fee which could eventually rise to €40m.

Zamparini spoke to Giornale Di Sicilia about the players the Rosanero have sold this summer, comparing Dybala to Andrea Belotti, who went to Torino.

“Belotti, who was always on the market for us, has yet to play,” Zamparini pointed out.

“Dybala is the only world-class talent that Juve have. I’ll be cheering for him in the Derby della Mole.”

Zamparini was also asked by Mediagol if it was hard to hold on to some Palermo’s other talents, and admits he has one regret.

“Achraf Lazaar and Franco Vazquez? It wasn’t hard to keep them. When the transfer window opened, I said repeatedly that they’d continue to form the basis of our team this season, especially Vazquez, and so it was.

“When I say someone isn’t for sale, then they aren’t.

“My main regret is [Las Palmas’ Sergio] Araujo, without question. He was my main objective to replace Dybala. We made a considerable effort for him, we presented a good offer.

“I was convinced that his talent and characteristics really could replace Paulo. Among the profiles we looked at, his football was the most bewitching.

“If I have to name one regret, then it’d be him.”
