Paulo Dybala returned to group training with Roma on Wednesday for the first time since his latest injury set-back, and now faces a race against time to be fit enough for an appearance against Juventus in Serie A at the weekend.
The Argentine was forced off injured during the first half of the Giallorossi’s 1-1 draw with Fiorentina on December 10, with what was later confirmed as a lesion to the flexor muscles in his left thigh.
Initially, it had been expected that Dybala would be unable to return to competitive action for Roma until the other side of the new year, however, the chances of him featuring against Juve on Saturday are now increasing, according to reports from Calciomercato.com.
La Joya took part in sections of Roma’s training session, but did not train with the group for the entirety of the session. He had been working individually over the festive period.
Dybala will continue to be monitored by Roma’s club medical staff over the coming days, as he attempts to return for the trip to Turin, which kicks off at 19.45 GMT on Saturday evening.
