Paulo Dybala has highlighted that his request to Santa Claus would be ‘the Champions League for Juventus.’

The 28-year-old Argentinian forward, who has scored eight goals in 17 appearances this season for the Bianconeri, was answering a series of questions posed to him by young Juventus fans in the conference room of the Allianz Stadium.

First discussing his move from Palermo to Juventus, with Calciomercato.com collecting his words, Dybala remembered “that period was incredibly emotional. At that time there were many calls, I was doing well in Palermo, but when my agent told me that Juventus had called me, I said to answer only those calls and not to answer any other. I wanted to excel and the fact that Juventus looked for me was a very nice feeling.”

The 28-year-old Argentinian forward knew what he would ask Santa Claus for, saying “The list is always long, there are many things you can ask for, some closer others further away. On a football level, I would ask for the Champions League for Juventus.

“Obviously knowing that next year there is the World Cup, winning it with Argentina would be something extraordinary. Dreaming is free, if Santa Claus brings us these gifts we will be happy.”

Upon joining Juventus in 2015, Dybala was given the shirt number 21, but this changed to the famous No.10 in the 2017-18 season. He appreciated the importance of the number, noting that “You always have to give more, what you have just done is not enough. We all know what the 10 shirt represents for Juventus, in history some great players have worn it.

“For me it’s a unique honour since the club asked me to wear this number. I had 21, which still means a lot here. I am honoured to wear it, I hope to give all the fans something spectacular with this number.”

Reflecting upon his favourite goal for Juventus, Dybala highlighted that “I always say it’s the next one, but I think the one against Inter at the Allianz Stadium, for the 2-0, the way the shot was… I think it was one of the most beautiful. It’s a shame the crowd wasn’t there.”

Finally, discussing his childhood idols, the 28-year-old Argentinian forward said “as a child, my idols were Riquelme and Ronaldinho.”

The 28-year-old Dybala’s contract expires with Juventus next year in 2022 and it seems likely that a new deal will be agreed upon before the end of the season.

  1. A more realistic wish would be a season with at least half of the games played…. oh wait, that is a chimera like Juventus lifting the UCL lol

  2. He’s turning into a bum just like his idol Allegri. Why isn’t Nedved requesting certain heads be smashed in?

  3. Dybala just ask Santa for a new doctor, one that can figure out why he is injured every 5 seconds. Juventus number one target in the transfer window should be a new team of doctors as injuries and multiple repeated cases like this are not normal. I think Milan should also look into this.
