Roma star Paulo Dybala hopes Italy will continue to be ‘his second home’ for a long time and feels it would be nice to play a football game in the Colosseum.

The Argentinean forward took a tour of Rome during an interview with Lega Serie A, which was released on YouTube.

The Roma striker is under contract at the Stadio Olimpico until June 2025.

He came across the city’s most relevant monuments, where he arrived as a free agent from Juventus in the summer of 2022.

“I am Argentinean, and I will always be, but Italy is a second home to me, and I hope it will continue to be for a long time,” he said.

“Rome is magical. When I was a kid back in Argentina, I only saw Rome through movies and my impression was that it was an enormous city, something very big.

“The first day I arrived in Italy, I arrived in Rome and for me it was a dream come true.

“I have played football since I remember. To say that it is everything may seem exaggerated, but it’s exactly how it is. The best memories I have are often related to football. One can dream and imagine, but when those dreams become reality it’s truly incredible. Football is in every moment of my life,” continued the Argentinean striker.

“When I was a kid, I spent a lot of time watching movies. My favourite and one that I continue watching is ‘The Gladiator.’

At that moment, Dybala’s car passed in front of the Colosseum.

“This is one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world. It would be nice to have a football game here,” said the striker.

Over 10,000 Roma fans welcomed Dybala in the capital two years ago, in an event held at Eur neighbourhood.

“My first day here almost came as a surprise. It was incredible. The club had organised a huge event and a lot of people came. It was truly spectacular. Every time I come here, I always think about that night because it was truly unforgettable,” said Dybala.

“The history here [in Rome] is incredible and unique. I like to see and admire the city more than anything. As I said before, especially at night, everything is lit up, making it even more beautiful. At night, the city is something else.

“Italy has played a very important role in my life. I have lived here for more than 10 years. All through my adolescence up until today, I’ve always lived in Italy, in different cities, but always in this country, where I met incredible people. It’s a country that has taught me a lot. They have treated me well from the first day.

“I think Italians, in general, are similar to Argentineans. The fans are very similar, the passion for the club, the strong feelings. I often watched Roma games, but if you are not inside, it’s difficult to know what it’s like to be here. People here live and breathe Roma.”
