Paulo Dybala is the first Roma player to react to José Mourinho’s sacking: ‘I wish you the best and I hope to see you again soon.’

Dybala reacted to Mourinho’s sacking with an Instagram post on Tuesday.

“Thank you Mister, thank you for everything,” wrote the Argentinean star.

“It was an enormous pleasure to work with you. Thanks for your advice and every word you gave me. I wish you and your staff the best and hope to see you again soon.”

Dybala scored 24 goals in 56 appearances under Mourinho at Roma, joining the Giallorossi on a free transfer in 2022, in Mourinho’s second season at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Argentinean forward is contracted at the Stadio Olimpico until June 2025, but he has a €13m clause valid for clubs outside Serie A, while Italian clubs can sign him by paying a €20m transfer fee.

However, Roma can block Dybala’s transfer to another Serie A club by offering him a contract extension with a pay rise.

Dybala is currently out of action with a muscle injury and missed the last Serie A game against Milan at San Siro.

It remains to be seen if he will be available this coming Saturday against Hellas Verona, in Daniele De Rossi’s first game in charge of the Giallorossi.
